Association/Executive Director

  • Location:  Geneva, NY USA
  • Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Association/Executive Director is the face and voice of Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association and will be visible to the community, representing the association at public events.  The Association/Executive Director is responsible for the daily operation of the organization. Tasks include maintaining the membership database, managing fundraising campaigns and acknowledging the financial contributions of donors. Additionally, the Association/Executive Director applies for and manages grant proposals; handling logistics for meetings and events; coordinates and engages volunteers and partner organizations; maintains the association’s web site and social media efforts; newsletter development; supervision of additional staff members and collaborates with the Board of Directors and its committees. 

  • Qualifications: 

    We are looking for candidates who:

    • Are attentive to detail, think creatively, problem solve and can develop efficient working systems.
    • Can work independently as well as collaboratively and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Have proficiency in Microsoft office, Google workspace, data entry, and record keeping.
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
    •  Are customer-service oriented and convey a high level of professionalism.

  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience with several of the following: 

    • Non-profit organization management, including: event planning and coordination, membership/donor management software, public relations, grant writing, fundraising, development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication plans to grow membership and revenue.
    • General business/office administration including record keeping.
    • General website development and editing through a graphical user interface.
    • Experience with programs to improve the environment, ideally with a water quality focus.
    • Supervision of small staff or teams.
  • Additional Requirements:  

    • Bachelor’s degree.
    • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends.
    •  A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle for transportation.
    • Reliable internet access for approved remote work. 

    Work Location: Newly renovated office space in Geneva, NY and flexibility for remote work.  Relocation is not provided.

    Work Hours: 35 - 40 hours/week.  Some weekend and evening hours may be required as part of work week.  

    Pay Range: $23 - $30 per hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    Benefits: Benefits include paid holidays, vacation days and sick days; retirement contribution and health care stipend.
