Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association began in 1990 when a small group of residents united to protect the lake’s water quality. Officially incorporated in 1991, Pure Waters quickly became a leader in scientific research, community engagement, and environmental advocacy. From its grassroots origins to award-winning programs, the organization’s history is rooted in collaboration, data-driven action, and a commitment to preserving Seneca Lake for future generations.
